Obituary: SCEE’s Tony Bourne

UK industry veteran Tony Bourne has passed away.

Bourne is best known for founding the SCEE’s QA department in Liverpool back in 1995, where he recruited and managed the original 65 staff to oversee the release of the first PlayStation games in Europe.

He was rewarded for his work when Sony Japan gave him the award for Individual Excellence in 1997.

Bourne also spent time working at US Gold, Eidos, Wise Monkey and Film Finances.

His funeral will be held on Wednesday December 3rd at Walton Lea Crematorium in Warrington at 12.20pm, followed by drinks in Central London in the evening.
