Nintendo updates Wii web browser

A new update is available for Nintendo’s Opera-based Wii Internet Channel that adds support for USB keyboards and also allows for the easy sharing of web links with people on Wii Friends lists.

As well as the keyboard support, which makes typing out messages and entering information on web pages far easier, there have been some enhancements for Wii Remote users – such as the ability to use the B button as a shift button.

Also simplified is sending web links to people on your Wii Friends list, and the number of sites able to be saved in your Favourites list has also been expanded.

We believe this new version of the Internet Channel is even more engaging and delightful for the users around the world than its predecessor,” Opera boos Jon von Tetzchner stated.

Nintendo has always brought a new perspective, fresh ideas and unwavering enthusiasm to our partnership. And today, our combined efforts have given users more reasons to be excited.”
