Team17: Overcooked is a ‘great fit’ for Switch

Team17 has announced that Ghost Town Games’ award-winning co-op cook-off title Overcooked: Special Edition is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop on July 27th.

Priced at 15.99 in the UK, the special edition of the game includes both the base game and The Lost Morsel and Festive Seasoning content. It will, of course, also let players carry on the cooking mayhem while they’re on the move.

Complete with its classic solo campaign, the game can also be enjoyed as a couch co-op title with up to four players. You’ll also be able to go head to head in nine competitive versus levels with two-to-four players. Ghost Town Games has also made special use of the Switch’s HD Rumble feature for an even greater feeling of immersion.

When MCV spoke to Team17 earlier in the year about its Nindie publishing partnership with the platform holder, CEO Debbie Bestwick said:

"Overcooked belongs on as many platforms as possible, it’s one of the few games currently available that gets the whole family collectively involved and is a great example of why we need more games like this to hit a more mainstream audience on console in particular.

"As you know Overcooked was released on PC, PS4, Xbox mid-last year and has had a brilliant reception from the press and players alike. Ghost Town Games have been working hard on the Switch conversion and it is a great fit for the social nature of the platform and the audience."
