GDC 2014 opens call for submissions

The call for submissions has opened for the Game Developers Conference 2014.

The event will take place between March 17th and March 21st next year, and organisers are on the hunt speakers, roundtables and panel sessions.

The advisory board is looking for Main Conference submissions for the audio, business, marketing and management, design, production, programming and visual arts tracks.

The submissions process opens this week, and the deadline for applications is Thursday, August 29th.

Developers can submit their proposals through the official GDC website here.

Summit submissions for the event will open in early September.

As well as taking applications for speakers, organisers have announced two new additions to the GDC Main Conference advisory board, Light and Dark Arts founder Christina Coffin and TinyCo senior game designer Chelsea How.

“Our continuing goal with the GDC is to be the nexus of game design creativity and innovation, bringing compelling and practical sessions to our attendees,” said GDC Events GM Meggan Scavio.

“The additions of the fantastic Christina Coffin and Chelsea Howe to the 2014 advisory board are particularly exciting, as both women bring deep experience designing and programming a wide variety of games, and they will ensure even greater diversity in GDC programming that reflects some of the fastest growing sectors of the industry, like social, mobile, and independent game development.”
