Dev and publisher previously worked together to launch mobile action RPG

Nonstop Knight studio Kopla Games acquired by Flaregames

Kopla Games, the Finnish developer behind mobile title Nonstop Knight, has been purchased by its publisher partner Flaregames.

Nonstop Knight marked Flaregames’ biggest launch to date, racking up two million installs in three days and helping the firm to triple its revenue and profits for the year so far.

Flaregames confirmed in its announcement of the deal that “Kopla Games will remain completely operationally independent, as Flaregames believes that developers should have creative freedom, with the role of the publisher being to help educate the developer when making decisions”.

It added that Kopla would retain its existing name and location.

“After having worked together with Flaregames since the beginning of the year, this deal was a no-brainer for us,” said Kopla CEO and co-founder Mika Kuusisto.

“It enables us to be super focused on quickly searching and finding what the players are truly interested in, knowing that Flaregames has the know-how and muscle to scale it. Together we will create the next mobile gaming phenomenon.”
