Konami is retroactively removing Kojima’s name from old Metal Gear games

The apparent feud between Konami and Hideo Kojima is getting nastier.

As spotted by Kotaku, mentions of both series creator Hideo Kojima and his studio Kojima Productions have not only been removed from all promotional material for Metal Gear Solid V but also from images of older titles on Konami’s Metal Gear Solid website.

Images of the site now and from November 29th, which you can see below, show that Kojima has been removed from the covers of both MGS: Ground Zeroes and MGS: The Legacy Collection.

Reports suggest that while Kojima will see out the final few months development on Metal Gear Solid V, he will depart as soon as the game’s out – taking senior Kojima Productions devs with him.

Konami this morning confirmed that it is hiring for new Metal Gear Solid developers, refusing to commit to Kojima’s role beyond the conclusion of MGS V.
