Capcom announces a streamlined Pro Tour for 2017

Remember last year when we were all desperately trying to figure out who had qualified for the Capcom Cup and who hadn’t? Well that appears to have been the last time we will have to do such a thing, as the new Capcom Pro Tour format seems a lot easier.

First of all one player has already qualified for the Capcom Cup 2017, and that is last year’s winner NuckleDu. He will also be joined by one player who makes it through the open Last Chance Qualifier, just days before the event.

The other 30 contestants for the Capcom Cup will be the top 30 players on the global leaderboard. Placing well at Premier or Ranking events will net you points, and those with the highest amount of points, regardless of region, will end up at the Capcom Cup.

A full list of Premier events can be seen over on the Capcom Pro Tour website, but particular highlights include Evo, CEO and a return to EGX in Birmingham this September.
