Mirroring its success in both the Japanese and US markets, Nintendo’s Wii outing Super Smash Bros: Brawl has beaten off the competition this week to claim the number one spot in the ChartTrack All Formats Top 40.
Last week’s number one, LucasArts’ LEGO Indiana Jones: Original Adventures, is pegged back to number three, with EA’s latest addition to its Battlefield brand, Bad Company, debuting in second position.
Last week’s number two, Konami’s PS3 smash-hit Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, slips to sixth following a chart resurgence from Nintendo’s Wii Fit, which climbs 23 places to fourth spot, and a strong fifth place debut from THQ’s Big Beach Sports.
Other new entries in this week’s Top 40 include Sega’s Beijing 2008 at number nine, Activision’s Guitar Hero: Aerosmith in 14th, Vivendi’s The Bourne Conspiracy at 15, Ubisoft’s My Health Coach: Manage Your Weight at number 27, EA’s Command & Conquer: Kane’s Wrath in 31st, Disney’s The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian at number 36 and Activision’s Kung Fu Panda, which creeps in at 40.
