Esports BAR has announced that Facebook and ESL will come together for a dual keynote, a fireside chat between ESL CEO Ralf Reichert and Facebook’s Patrick Chapman, gaming and esports partnerships.
The topic of the title is "Esports Comes of Age: A Battleplan for Mainstream Reach" and will discuss a way for people to reach mainstream audiences.
This announcement comes as Esports BAR announces the initial schedule for its conference, taking place in Cannes next month, between February 12 and 14.
Day one will largely be looking at how brands are integrating with esports, what opportunities are getting buy-in from investors and a look at esports in China. Day two will feature a large panel on how how the media and online platforms are coming together with esports, a look at the future of esports on mobile devices and an assessment of the esports sponsorship market, in addition to a chat about how major football clubs are looking to target the esports sector.
Day three talks about esports and betting, with the day’s schedule focussed on the business of betting, and how gambling companies are approaching the sector.
“Esports BAR Cannes 2018 will host wide-ranging discussions on how the esports sector can expand beyond its existing fan base to a wider, mainstream audience,” said Reed MIDEM’s Esports BAR Development Director Stéphane Gambetta. “ESL and Facebook are driving this process forward and their joint keynote address is a unique opportunity for Esports BAR delegates to learn and interact with these two forward-thinkers."
“Esports has proved such a global phenomenon, with a turbo-charged rate of development, that it has not always been easy to have a 360° vision of trends, opportunities and challenges. The business insight sessions aim to help Esports BAR delegates discuss and advance the future of the esports ecosystem,’ noted Stephane Gambetta.
Companies that have already signed up for Esports BAR Cannes include Activision Blizzard, Air Asia, Badminton World Federation, Critical Force, Danone Waters, Domino’s Pizza, EDF, Electronic Arts, ESL, European Broadcasting Union, Fnatic, G2, Hyper X, Media Pro, Mastercard, Millenial Esports, Minute Media, MTG, Orange, Pepsico, Rai.com, Starladder, Super Evil Megacorp, Team Vitality, The Coca-Cola Company, Twitch and Ubisoft among others.
