PlayStation-Xbox cross-platform multiplayer may be closer to becoming a reality.
In a statement provided to GameSpot, Sony has said that would be happy to speak to companies interested in cross-platform play, and also pointed out that it has been enabling cross-platform play since 2002’s Final Fantasy XI.
This follows ID@Xbox director Chris Charla saying earlier this week that the platform holder is letting developers support cross-network play with different online multiplayer networks, including console and PC networks.
"PlayStation has been supporting cross-platform play between PC on several software titles starting with Final Fantasy 11 on PS2 and PC back in 2002,” Sony told GameSpot.
We would be happy to have the conversation with any publishers or developers who are interested in cross platform play."
