The annual BAFTA Games Lecture, this year taking place Thursday October 4 at BAFTA’s London HQ, will be delivered by Media Molecule’s Siobhan Reddy.
The studio director at the team behind LittleBigPlanet and the upcoming Dreams joins a list of luminaries such as Jade Raymond, Will Wright, and Supercell’s Ilkka Paananen in holding the marquee spot at the event.
Reddy is no stranger to BAFTA’s ways, with Media Molecule bagging plenty of awards from the organisation over the years for the LBP franchise. The lecture aims to deliver insight from established, noted professionals across the industry and allows them to share experience and vision with those attending.
Dr Jo Twist OBE, chair of the BAFTA Games Committee said: “Siobhan Reddy is a force of nature in the games industry, having played a leading role in the creation of some of the world’s most innovative, genre-bending games, as well as being a public advocate for games and their role in our culture. Creative excellence and collaboration lie at the heart of Siobhan’s work and we look forward hearing her insights on what’s next in the world of game-making.”
Reddy joined Media Molecule from Criterion in 2006, and has since worked on the LBP franchise, Tearaway, and the upcoming Dreams. She sits on the advisory board for GDC, and is a former member of BAFTA Games.
Previous Lectures are available on the BAFTA site both in highlight and full audio/transcript form – you can find Jade Raymond’s talk from 2015 here, for example.
