EA Access is coming to PlayStation 4

Further to its announcements at its EA Play event for E3 2019, Electronic Arts has confirmed it is rolling out its EA Access subscription service to PlayStation 4 in July 2019, as well as “increasing its commitment to players by offering more quality games from some of [the] best developers in the industry through its subscription services”.

This move onto Sony’s PlayStation 4 platform now means EA “will offer subscriptions on more platforms than any other gaming company”.

Just like its PC and Xbox sibling, EA Access on PlayStation 4 will give players early access to try brand new games before, or at, release, plus a 10 per cent discount on all full EA games across the store, as well as season passes, DLC and Ultimate Team content. Games in the PS4 Vault currently include Unravel 2, Battlefield V, FIFA 19, Madden 19, NHL 19, A Way Out, Fe, Titanfall 2, The Sims 4, and more.

“EA’s Origin Access on PC gives players one of the deepest and highest rated catalogs of PC games available, featuring more than 200 games from more than 85 content partners boasting an average Metacritic score of 80,” EA said via a press release. “The library features games from award-winning studios like 11bit who will release Frostpunk and Moonlighter into the service later this year, to narrative-driven indie darlings like Supergiant Games’ Pyre, new releases like Tropico 6, Mutant Year Zero, Breathedge, alongside EA franchises likeBattlefield and FIFA.”

MCV has reached out to EA to confirm if players need to buy separate memberships to use EA Access across all platforms – we will update as/when we hear back.
