MonteCristo and DoA will no longer cast League of Legends

Two of the most well known League of Legends casters in the world will no longer cover the game.

Both Christopher "MonteCristo" Mykles and Erik "DoA" Lonnquist have announced that they will not return to casting the Korean League of Legends competition League Champions Korea.

Over the last few years MonteCristo and DoA have become known as the voices of the competition, and quickly became fan favourites thanks to their unique style. However the pair are now moving onto other titles, with MonteCristo already casting multiple Overwatch events.

The move is not all that surprising. MonteCristo has had multiple disagreements with Riot during the last year or so, first off they made him sell his team, Renegades, after being found to be breaking rules, and then MonteCristo DoA and other LCK casters refused to attend MSI after not coming to an agreement over payment rates. Monte then went on to call out Riot’s poor payment for casters at the Overwatch World Cup.

Chris "Papasmithy" Smith, Seth "Achillios" King and a third, but currently unknown, caster will take over the broadcast responsibilities for the LCK’s English stream.
