EA renews NFL licences

EA has confirmed the extension of its exclusive licensing agreement with the National Football League and NFL players. The agreement allows the company to develop, publish and distribute American football video games, and provides EA with the rights to NFL teams, stadiums and players until the end of the 2012 season.

We are excited about the opportunity to extend and expand our relationships with the NFL and NFL players," said Peter Moore, president of EA sports. "For nearly two decades, EA Sports has been bringing sports fans closer to the great game of football through the breakthrough interactive experiences of our videogames. Game quality is our top priority, and we’re committed to pushing our gameplay innovation, connecting football fans via rich online experiences and delivering the most visually stunning sports games on the market.”

In other EA related news, the publisher has confirmed that Mass Effect will be released for PC in May 2008.

The PC version of the game is said to include customisable controls (including hot keys), a new decryption mini game as well as an advanced inventory system.
