Anonymous targets NATO, News International

Hacktivist group Anonymous says it has successfully hacked both NATO and News International, obtaining key News of the World information in the process.

However, it has now reneged on an earlier promise to post internal News International emails the groups claimed to have stolen.

"We think, actually we may not release emails from The Sun, simply because it may compromise the court case," Anonymous Tweeted while Lulzsec tweeted that they were "working with certain media outlets who have been granted exclusive access to some of the News of the World emails we have."

Anonymous went on to announce a hack into the European defence pact NATO, "We are sitting on about one Gigabyte of data from NATO now, most of which we cannot publish as it would be irresponsible," they said.

The group did, however, post a restricted NATO document relating to spending on Communications & Intelligence (C3I) infrastructure. NATO condemned the attack , warning that leaking of the data could "potentially endanger the security of NATO allies, armed forces and citizens," they said.
