Bungie will bring Destiny 2 to PC, as well as PS4 and Xbox One.
That’s according to Kotaku, which reports that it has heard from its own sources that forum rumours about PC expansion doing the rounds at the moment are indeed correct.
It is also claimed that Activision studios Vicarious Visions and High Moon have been drafted in to help with development, which is already now the main focus of the bulk of Bungie’s 750+ strong development workforce.
The site adds that Bungie management wants the game to feel like a proper sequel, suggesting that existing locations, activities and, crucially, characters won’t be carried over to the new game. Possible incentives for existing players who have invested time and cash in the current title may be under discussion.
Apparently all signs point to it being a completely different game” and that development has started from scratch. One of the aims is for planets to feel more populated, with towns and outposts. There was also a big staff reorganisation in April.
Added a source: The Taken King was a reboot for Destiny 1 to fix small things. This is the overhaul to fix big things.”
