GF18: Supercell and Space Ape bring Game First conference to London

SuperCell is moving its mobile developer conference to London in January. It’s putting on the event with the London-based Space Ape Games, which SuperCell acquired back in May. Game First has been run in Supercell’s Helsinki since 2014 and welcomes ‘game developers only’ to talk about current issues in development.

The event is being held over an afternoon and evening on Wednesday January 17th at the Congress Centre in Central London, though the exact itinerary is yet to be confirmed.

In a statement Supercell and Space Ape said: ‘Games First London aims to bring together the best and brightest from London’s game developer community for a gathering to celebrate their passion and craft through an afternoon of quality game development talks and valuable networking opportunities. Space Ape and Supercell will also debut the Indie Game Fayre, which will showcase the best of London’s Indie Games scene.’

The event runs from 4pm to 10pm with a mix of talks and networking opportunities. The event is free, but space is limited. Apply for a ticket here.

Space Ape, which is based in London’s West End, has been very active in organising talks and development community events at its own offices. The company saw big success with its Transformers: Earth Wars game and earlier this year launched Fastlane: Road to Revenge – which looks to be inspired by a blend of GTA styling and classic arcade shooter gameplay.
