With many predicting that the hi-def DVD war is fast approaching an end, and an end that will be marked with a Blu-Ray victory, Microsoft has slashed the price of its HD-DVD Xbox 360 drive in North America to $129.99.
This represents a discount of $50 – and means that in real money the accessory now costs just 65 across the pond. The RRP remains 114.99 in the UK, though savvy shoppers should be able to find it for under 100.
There’s no word yet on whether the UK will see a further price drop on the peripheral, though Microsoft has confirmed that gamers in Australia, Canada and New Zealand can expect similar discount to appear soon.
