Hosted at County Hall, Westminster, the conference will bring together 600 attendees from across the PC, console and mobile industries for the first time in the event’s history, and will be headed up by former games journalist and analyst George Osborn, who steps into the role of event director.
Over 80 speakers are set to appear across six content tracks during the two days, including London Venture Partners’ Paul Heydon, Bossa Studios’ Tracey McGarrigan, Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail, Newzoo CEO Peter Warman, Curve Digital’s Alex Moyet, No More Robots’ Mike Rose and Mike Bithell of Bithell Games.
The tracks, meanwhile, cover topics such as marketing and business, design and development, VR and AR, esports, the global games market and video game culture.
A number of fringe events will also be takin gplace, icnluding the Gamesforum party on the first day of the event, the Game Dev Showdown where eight developers will pitch their game to five investors, journalists and publishers, and a publisher meet and greet, where eight developers will get a chance to pitch their games and businesses to top publishers.
“Our aim for Gamesforum is to create an event that offers excellent speaking sessions, a professional environment to do business – whatever your company size and purpose – and a forum to exchange ideas,” said Osborn.
“With the barriers between game platforms eroding and game businesses increasingly turning away from being labelled platform specific, we felt it was the right time to broaden our horizons – providing companies from across the industry with a great opportunity to kickstart their year.”
