Over 40 different companies will battle it out for victory at next month’s Awards.

Now in its fifth year, the event recognises success and contribution from all sectors of the UK games market, which hit record sales of 3.4 billion across software and hardware in 2007.

Over 500 executives from every single market sector will attend, covering the movers and shakers in retail, publishing, distribution, media, development, services and many more.

Amongst the Finalists, there are no fewer than 20 different retailers up for awards – from High Street giants to indie online sites.

The big games companies such as Electronic Arts, Nintendo, Activision, THQ, Sony, Sega, Microsoft and Ubisoft dominate the Finalist slots outside of the retail arena, but there are still smaller companies such as 505 Games making their bid for glory.

As well as a series of ‘team’ awards, there is also the hugely popular individual award voted exclusively by members of the esteemed MCV Retail Advisory Board, in recognition of service above the call of duty.
