MCV Awards 2016 Finalist Profiles: Specialist Retailer

As we countdown to the MCV Awards 2016, which takes place in London on March 3rd, we profile each of the finalists for the Specialist Retailer category

GAME

More than 50 per cent of GAME’s UK store managers have worked at the company for over five years and more 97 per cent of the Group’s workforce is interested in gaming outside of work.

Grainger Games

Grainger had a busy 2015, investing in new stores and has increased staff and more product ranges, while building out sister tech brand Trade Nation.

Green Man Gaming

Last year saw the company listed on both the Sunday Times BT Business SME Export Track 100 and on the 15th annual Sunday Times Hiscox Tech Track 100.

ShopTo

In 2015 ShopTo re-released its dedicated mobile app and updated its mobile website to address increased demand from users on the move. It also extended its existing finance offerings.

Steam

Games sold via the platform generated over $3.5 billion last year, according to Steam Spy. The site recently claimed that 3,000 new games were released on the platform in 2015, with the number of concurrent users reaching 12 million.

The MCV Awards 2016 takes place on March 3rd at the brand new Hilton Bankside Hotel in London,hosted by BBC funnyman Miles Jupp.
