MCV Awards 2016 Finalists: Marketing Team

As we countdown to the MCV Awards 2016, which takes place in London on March 3rd, we profile each of the finalists for the Marketing Team category

2K

The 2K team began the year with new IP in the form of Evolve, moving on to The Handsome Collection before the debut of NBA 2K16 (with tie-in UK NBA broadcast sponsorship) and celebrity-heavy WWE promotion.

Activision

The Activision team delivered fully integrated campaigns across Call of Duty, Destiny, Guitar Hero and Skylanders in 2015, encompassing PR, experiential and trade campaigns.

Bandai Namco

The Bandai Namco team supported The Witcher 3, Project Cars, Dragon Ball and Dark Souls 2 with campaigns that included the biggest event ever held at Stirling Castle in Scotland (for The Witcher 3).

Bethesda

2015 saw Bethesda’s marketing team launch Wolfenstein: The Old Blood, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Edition, Fallout Shelter, Dishonored: Definitive Edition and Fallout 4, with the latter exceeding all expectations.

Electronic Arts

The UK marketing team focused on three goals: Putting Players First (driving positive player sentiment); Playing as One Team (by focusing on the integration of channels); Driving Digital Transformation (increased focus on data and insights driven decision making).

Nintendo

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Splatoon and Super Mario Maker became key parts of Nintendo’s community and events-focussed activities, both organised by Nintendo UK and by Nintendo UK fan groups.

PlayStation

2015 featured two peak brand campaigns for the first time in PlayStation history: The Wonderful Life of a PS4 Player and PlayStation presents: Star Wars. Both were tailored to suit evolving deals and retailer tagging throughout peak.

Ubisoft

The UK marketing team planned, managed and launched no 20 games, from AAA to digital only, including Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege and the annual Just Dance 2016.

WB Games

2015 has been positive year for WB Games UK, with four titles achieving number one UK chart positions. The release slate included including LEGO Dimensions, Batman: Arkham Knight, Mad Max, Dying Light, Mortal Kombat X and LEGO Jurassic World.

Xbox

2015 was a year of change for the Xbox UK marketing team, with a number of new faces appearing and experienced members challenging themselves with new roles and responsibilities.

The MCV Awards 2016 takes place on March 3rd at the brand new Hilton Bankside Hotel in London,hosted by BBC funnyman Miles Jupp.
