The program is planned as a six-year project to improve the supply and availability of Nordic computer games for Nordic consumers, and includes support for the Nordic game industry. By 2011 the Nordic Game group plan to have increased the funding to 10m DKK, over €1m.
Projects that are granted funding in the first round are to be announced at the Nordic Game 2007 conference in Malmö, which runs from May 15th to 16th, with the Finnish Minister of Culture heading the official ceremony.
Applicants must be incorporated, independent and Nordic-owned, and the game to be funded must be released in at least one of the Nordic languages. The assesment process evaluates each proposed game’s target age group, the background of the studio and how important the funding will factor in the company’s ongoing success.
