Overwatch’s fifth season of Competitive Play is coming to an end at the end of August, a little over two weeks away on August 29 at 1am in the UK.
This means that players looking to snag a higher rank, or even compete for one of the top 500 player slots on each platform, it’s time to put the grind in.
The top 500 players on each platform get an animated spray and a unique player icon, while everyone that gives competitive a go and completes their placement matches will be given a special spray and a player icon for participation. Congratulations, you tried.
You’ll also get some Competitive Points for your trouble, which are used to buy golden guns for characters to show how good you are. Players earn 10CP for every win in the game’s competitive mode, and then you’ll get a bounty based on your highest placement.
The amounts vary, and are shown below.
- SR 1-1499 (Bronze): 100 CP
- SR 1500-1999 (Silver): 200 CP
- SR 2000-2499 (Gold): 400 CP
- SR 2500-2999 (Platinum): 800 CP
- SR 3000-3499 (Diamond): 1200 CP
- SR 3500-3999 (Master): 2000 CP
- SR 4000-5000 (Grandmaster): 3000 CP
Overwatch players desperate for a competitive fix won’t have to wait long for season six, which will kick off three days later at 1am on the 1st of September in the UK.
