StandUp for GamesAid will return to London’s Comedy Store on May 13th, 2019.
UK games industry charity GamesAid has confirmed its “hilarious stand-up comedy night” will again be hosted by GamesAid’s Patron and MC resident Imran Yusuf, and the line-up will include Shoot From The Hip, Yuriko Kotani, Alex Kealy, and John Moloney.
GamesAid raised over £12,200 in 2018, “making the event the most fun and easiest way to raise money for a good cause”. The night will include a raffle to give attendees the chance to win “some incredible prizes” including the Black Ops 4 Mystery Box for Xbox One, Assassin’s Creed Origins – God’s Edition for PlayStation 4, and more.
“Last year was a sell-out, so let’s make this year even bigger!” says the press release.
Tickets are available right now at just £17 (plus £2 booking fee) and all profits raised will go to GamesAid and their life-changing charities. For more, head to The Comedy Store website.
GamesAid – a UK-based video games umbrella charity which supports a number of smaller charities who provide vital support to disadvantaged and disabled children and young people – raised £213,120 over the last year. This total was split between nine charities that were voted for by the members of GamesAid and will result in vital support for young people across the UK.
GamesAid Chair Matt Spall announced in September 2018 that the charity had now raised over £3.5m since its launch over a decade ago. “GamesAid is drive by the passion and fundraising activity of its members and I’d like to take this chance to sincerely thank everyone, across the industry who has done something amazing to raise money for GamesAid,” Spall told MCV at the time.
“We are looking at initiatives and ideas from up and down the country for 2019 and I’d like to invite everyone in the games industry to get involved. It’s free to join and you can help make a real difference to the lives of the young people we support”.
